Even though I change the "strategy," Marine always counterattacks. This usually isn't a problem, but when I go up against monsters that counterattack, Marine usually dies. I have tried changing the strategy to first strike and regeneration, but nothing seems to work. No items are equipped that counterattack. Anyone know how to fix this? Thanks in advance.

Maybe you're equipped with something that counter-attacks. If you defend, Marine will not counter-attack.

Thanks for the post, but it is not an equipment issue. I have tried defending with her, but I lost some of my weopons and items from the transfer, and I need her power to get through the fight.

I saw on earlier posts that there could be a problem with my save file. Anyone know how to fix that?

Maybe she has been promoted Wild Goose - that counter attacks.
