Rare bird quest (spoiler!)

I am now on my second run through and want to get all quests if possible. So I want to get the Rare Bird quest as well. I read somewhere that the solution is to

Have Cocka-Cocka in your party, and give him Light Speed and he will catch the bird.

Well, it's not working for me. I have him at level 54 and no joy. What level does he need to have or how speedy does he need to be? Or is it in the spelling? I have tried all combinations I can think of. Help?

You have to spell it with the dash in his name, COCKA-COCKA.

I'm not sure if 54 is fast enough, us typical importers have him at 99 or so.

You can try using tarabulla's energy burn for the speed buff, it's pretty good.

This is definitely a quest I would not worry about if you can't get it, it's just a low cash reward that's it.

Yeah I guess I am lazy I get so fed up with levelling up I keep going until I hit a bump Also, I do not really like fighting monsters if I know ahead of time I will win,,,,But thanx for the advice. I'll level him up some more with the 3rd master I am visiting and try again when I meet up with Ramdom again.

And to be honest right now It's about pride. I NEED to finish all quests now! But I think I may need at least another go through after this to get them all

You can't complete the quest once you're back with Random. The bird disappears. Sorry.

The quest expires pretty quick ._.

Leveling cocka was actually pretty quick back in LF1 due to the infamous heaven dragon.

If you're doing quests for pride then prepare to have your dream crushed, it's soooooooooooooo hard to figure out all of indinera's secrets. He even forgets half of them himself. This has been true since LP1 -_-a

i have cocka-cocka at lvl 90...and all i can give him is haste....i'm in chapter 10 (for now)...how do i give him lightning speed ?

And for anyone who wants to know....Cocka-Cocka needs to have 2000 plus speed (that's Level 58 plus lightening speed or of course by using some specials on him to change his permanant speed )
