Something I don't understand

I have been reading the posts and have seen it mentioned several times about leveling up in the arena. How do you do that if you keep getting wiped out in fights?

I'm not clear on where you are in the game of LF3. The best advice I can offer is to equip your strongest armour and weapons and use your strongest spells, if Random is equipped with the Lengendra helmet he will always strike first not your enemies.

I think (and could be very wrong here) that it is mentioned to level up to succeed in the Arena. Which is good advice anyway - level up, level up, and level up some more!
