Checked my last LF2 savefile in Adretana and the girl block the way there too...
*Edit: Checked other savefiles in Adretana and she's not there before Luci goes in the garden.

to get the garden key (in LF III ), go to the kitchen in the palace and check the 2nd sink from right. You will find it there

It works, but i think you have to click more than once to actually get the key.
