Chest in Thieve's Guild

Postby Cassiopeia » Tue Oct 12, 2010 2:44 pm

Hi!
Does anybody know how to open the chest in the Thieve's Guild?
The LF1 walkthrough claims the Garden Key would open it and I'm very sure I had this key but now I it's not in my inventory anymore. +::fear
Is this really the required item or is there another way to open the chest?

I'm in chapter 11. I've just arrived in Mt. Zulle to go to the Institute and thought it'd be a good time to finish this quest, but then - NO KEY .... +::cry

But NOW ........ Just went back to Adretana, checked the kitchen again, and YEAH, there it was!!!!! +::Dance

Still I know for sure I got this key the first time. Anyway, now I have it. And for I sure have to be able to return to Mt. Zulle because I have to talk to Daryl again, so I guess I can do this later. Happy again! :)

(By the way - what a disappointment: no bunny races anymore!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Thanks for helping!

This one was very nasty. In the beginning of Chapter 7 in LF II, there is a sequence when Luci tries to get into the Adretana palace through the palace gardens. In the gardens, there is a gate which can be opened with Garden Key (beyond the gate, there's nothing more than one alchemist ingredient and several minor permanent stat-boosters). The bad thing is after opening the gate, Garden Key silently vanishes from your inventory.

I found it out in chapter 11, and I was really upset too.

If you don't want to play 7th and 8th chapter of LF II again, try this savefile which featuers Garden Key in the inventory
http://www.aldorlea.org/officialsite/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=132&t=5919
or wait until Patojonas comes with his perfect savefile in the end of the 8th chapter.

If you go back to the kitchen in LF3, the key is back where you found it the first time and you can get it again.

Ar you sure? I tried to click on every point in the kitchen after importing a savefile where I lost the key, and nothing appeared. Maybe if someone didn't pick the key in LF I or played LF III from scratch, he found it (which would be logical, when the "picked Garden Key" RMXP switch was turned off), but I failed to find the key again (and the sink which was supposed to contain the key was bloked by some woman).

I got it with Luci's party right before going to Metrolia the first time (when Walz lands you in the wastelands). I had it in LFI and am using my import.

There are two stoves or sinks side by side. You have to click twice to get it.

Note that there is a blue chest in the Thieves Guild, below the room where Bruberk is. I've never been able to open that chest, even with Cindy at lvl 80 or so.
Always found it amusing that the Thieves Guild has a "locked" chest that cannot be opened by the best thieves ... :)

Ah, that might be it.
I decided not to attack the Thieves Guild, for gameplay reasons (I always play Neutral Good in D&D games, too :)).

Yeah, I think the one in front of the inn of Mt. Zulle and the one somewhere at the eastern exit just survive because they're jumping around all the time. What a pity I can't catch them and bring them to a warm place. Pooooooooooor bunnies!
