You went all the way back? How long did that take you? That sidequest doesn't start until you get the main ship.

Do you get Jake's letter first then can you find Jake lookalike or does the lookalike come before the letter? have tried but cannot find the lookalike.have been back twice

I did! I wanted to get some instruments after I found the first mimics and I found a bunch of others along the way. I didn't want to chance missing a side quest. It didn't take too long, because there were no monsters to fight or corners to explore.

So I guess at some point I will get a "main ship" and can then get back to other areas and can get Jake's quest then??

HELP - still cannot find jake lookalike - basil just asks am i happy now - have not finished jakes quest but finished Leela's and Greo's

The jake lookalike is in the Forest of the Gods in the final area, you must have spoke to the Emil lookalike first.

I had the same thing happen to me. I spoke with "Emil" in the arena, eventually killed the boss in the forest and went back several times and no "Jake".

I had already started Jake's quest (got the diary, the ring and the secret note).
For Emil's quest - I did talk to the scholar (re: sword), but I did talk to the king before the water container, and then got the water container and went back to see the king to see if anything was different. I couldn't find him. I found him again sometime later in the game and he says the same thing he did before getting the water container (something about I have a month before they before for war).

I decided to go ahead and start from a previous save because I forgot to start "Greo's" quest. +::O_o

I don't know why it is glitching out for your guys, I have tested it up to jake's appearance, and he is there...

The king is in the red crystal room in the castle.

Ohhh....just figured it out.

After getting the water container I did go back originally and thought I checked all the crystal rooms. Looks like I didn't.

I just reloaded a prevous save, got the water container and headed to the red crystal room. The king was there and did talk about the "heart of gold". +::YAY

I cant even go any farther in my game cause when I try to jump back the character jumps forward instead and
I have already saved near the end of the volcano! just before fighting the boss and before opening the silver
chest at the end.

That is a bug, it has been fixed and it is being released in 1.5 which is being uploaded tomorrow.

As for the bug where the Jake clone doesen't appear has also been fixed.

I got the jumping bug on the volcano area too. I just finished playing through the game on v1.4 and I found several bugs and glitches that I thought should be addressed (and possible spoilers as well):

1. The pillar in the volcano area doesn't work. Even if you go into the pillar, it doesn't seem to do anything or raise any stats. I don't know if this is just like this, but it doesn't seem to do anything for me except take me to that room.

2. The pillar in the sunken castle (the DEF pillar) has a huge problem. When I go in and then go back out, I quickly end up in front of the pillar in the final dungeon: the Abyss. I checked the pillar there and saw that it raises the same stat as the one in the Sunken Castle, so that may be the reason why I ended up there. I was surprised when I suddenly ended up in the final dungeon.

3. After beating the three dark knights, there is a warp that takes me back to the entrance. While that works, I saw that there are two warps at the entrance: one to return back to the top of the castle, and the other to go back out of the Abyss. I checked both and saw that both returns you back to the top of the castle, trapping me in the final dungeon. I can't go back and try to finish the arena if I wanted to.

Can you try to fix these bugs for the next version patch? I don't know if it was just me or if others have the same problems, but I kinda want to get out of the Abyss to finish the side-quests.
