Okidoki, here's the flower side-quest, pretty tough one indeed:

Get the clover (nearby Fortran the Jinxed house in arlan village)
-> swap it with Fortran to get the Orchid
-> get the Rose by Swapping it with Miss Rose in the igloo (top of vereisterberg mountain), she will appear if you play some music
-> Now get back to Arlan, nearby the first dungeon entrance. There's a spot you can climb on but you can't reach the top.
Get Magical Water in Alcim to make the plant grows, Pour magical water on the ivy, Go up until you reach a little hole in the ground, Play some music, Swap your rose for lily
-> In the skeleton Island, you will find a guy in the east willing to swap a lily against a level up.

I like the game but also another vote for some kind of walkthrough, and definitely a quest book. I'm still wandering around clueless.....can we get atleast just a basic guide of what to do?

Here's the instruments sequence

get the violin in Alcim WatchTower
talk to the girl who got a recorder for her birthday, she lives in the lowest part of Alcim's village -> You get the recorder
On top of Arlan village tower, play the recorder and get the Guitar
There's a hidden cave in Wessar next to a Waterfall and a bridge, here you could swap your guitar for a Harp
You'll be able to use or swap your Harp with a level up in Chapter 2

Hiya all! I've got the Box of Nyd and have gone to the Castle and the Ordanim says to use the iron gloves and push his bed. However, I have the iron gloves selected and have tried to push all 4 beds every which way, but none of them will budge! Do I have a dud pair of gloves, or am I missing something obvious???

Hi Laura
I suppose you've just forgot that Ariana (The tutorial) used to say that you need to hit Action to use the equipments.
In other word in action while pushing.

(I agree I should perhaps remind it at this stage )

Otherwise the bed is the one on the top left, same floor as the Ordanims
