Hey jaybot, trying out older Arvale now. Hilarity is still there +::lol Just need to figure out how much to level up before tackling each new section. The encounter rate is just right for beginner (slow too) like me +::Thumbup

Glad you enjoyed it Alikamou! :)

That was the original idea behind the first Arvale: a slower paced, casual RPG easy for anyone to pick up and play (and chock full of humor). I think we did a pretty good job of it. I liked the idea so much, I decided to keep making them ;)

Great! Indy's games here have been challenging enough, but because there are playing levels we can choose (VERY easy, Easy, Normal and Hard modes) it makes the games more manageable. We can practice from the easiest on up +::lol
But...there are times I just want to play through and Arvale, along with Dawn's Light have been just the thing +::Thumbup

I tried out the other Arvale games and can't get them to full screen. All I get are these tiny little windows. The game plays good, but for eyes like mine I need a bigger window. I've tried to increase screen size by pressing ALT + ENTER, which usually does the trick. Not this time. Any suggestions?
OBTW - Have finished and want MORE! Absolutely loved the game. The dialogue was very entertaining.

I almost fell on the floor when the hero started talking inappropriately to the wheelbarrow!!!!!!
It was a HOOT. Kind of easy, but so far, love the humor.......right down my
alley. What's this about a prequel? Is there a place to download that???

jaybot7.com is the site. Haven't figured out how to get the window it plays in to enlarge. It looks like something you'd play on gameboy. Too tiny for me. You'll find the prequel on the jaybot7 site under free games.

AuntIggy: Glad you enjoyed the game! Episode II I plan on finishing by the end of March, so I'll keep everyone posted on when it gets released.

As for the older titles, unfortunately, Arvale: Journey of Illusion and Arvale II: Ocean of time were made with a proprietary engine on a completely different platform, so full screen really isn't possible :( Arvale II has a slightly larger window than Arvale I, but the text may still be a bit small...

The closest you can do (although it's a bit advanced) is running the game in 640x480 mode by: Right-click the program shortcut and choose Properties, followed by the Compatibility tab. Then tick the box marked ‘Run this program in compatibility mode for’ and select the version of Windows XP, then use lower display settings by selecting the tickboxes for 256 colours and 640 x 480 resolution. From then on, the game will run the the closest to full screen that it can every time you load it. Sorry if that sounds complicated, let me know if that makes any sense :)

titaness: Glad you like the wheelbarrows :) Yes, the previous Arvale games are available on my site here for Free: http://jaybot7.com/blog/free-games back when Duncan had an actual beard ;)

Jaybot7, I am computer dumb so pardon my next question. If I go in and change the settings will it affect my other games? or anything else for that matter?

AuntIggy: No, not at all :) It should only affect the game you set it for. For example, if you right click on the short-cut for Arvale: Journey of Illusion and set all that stuff, it will only do that whenever you load up Arvale: Journey of Illusion. When you close Arvale, everything will go back to normal.

Thank you so much. Am looking forward to playing these and to the next segment due in March. Now you know I'm going to hold you to that. +::lol +::biggrin

@Alikamou I'm going to do what jaybot7 suggested and will let you know how it is.

Still a trifle hard for me. I think I'll just wait for the March installment. :)

Alright, this game is in the Aldorlea category of G R E A T! +::YAY Can This company do no wrong? I should think
N O T!

The only qualm I have is the wait for the following game, I realize this takes time, and I'm more than willing to wait, a little, and I can be patient, as long as something like, say, Lax 3 is coming out soon??!!! Any projections for us...?I'd be happy with the old 20 - ?'s route...is it a lot smaller than a bread box
until whenever...

forever wondering,

We are trying to get Dreamscape ready for late February, then Ella's Hope shortly after.
Millennium 3 should follow in April or May and "Lax 3" as you call it (I assume u mean Laxius Force III +::wizard ) should be for this summer.
You liking it? ^^
