Vastar is divided up into 3 chapters. Each chapter you play as one of the siblings. Once you finish their chapter, then the final chapter begins where you play as all of them at once.

Danton can upgrade his lockpicks many times, though it will depend on his level. He can get his first set if he talks to one of the rogues in the Ebonshire docks, but he needs to be at least level 12 to get them.

Talk to many people with each of the characters. They may say something differently depending on who's talking to them! For instance, talking to the other rogues with Danton may give you insight on new information than if you talk to them with Julian or Xathia.

Surfergramy: What do you mean by the 'jerky' screen? Was it lagging during that time? I will look into it and see what's going on.

also, the game will autosave when you get a new item, so if you get killed after getting the item before saving, the autosave will get it for you.

I have been getting some reports about the game freezing up in some spots. I've been unable to duplicate this error on my end, and the game has been tested extensively by several beta-testers and there was all but one issue with one person of the game freezing, but I managed to fix this. This seems to be rare only happening to a few people, but I would still like to address this issue ASAP so that the game is made playable for everyone. If anyone runs into any issues with the game suddenly freezing up in certain spots, please let me know so I can look into the issue. Thanks for the tip about the lockpicks. Actually started to level up (finally up to low twenties with all three) and some powerful abilities are showing up Now need to figure out what works best because AP takes a big bite out of $ to replenish unless I hang around a fresh well (really saves supplies ) Still doing a lot of walking...BUT I INTEND TO GET THAT so I don't have to walk as much Going back to the game right after this posting

Exodus, meant it just wasn't smooth. Don't know any other way to describe it, but no more problems with it. Playing Danton now and he's fun!! Love the fresh wells! Have to work for a couple of days, so will get to play some more later this week!

The game did start out very "jerky" or slow. This seemed to improve when I got out of town
for the first time (I used the girl first). It reappears periodically during the game. I did discover
"freezing" on some occasions was related to having accidentally moved the mouse to a certain area, when I was trying to use the keys to move. Maybe it would help to be able to use only one
option or the other, rather than both enabled at the same time. Btw, a good place to earn
money is by hanging out at the fairy land in the forest Julian first enters. There, you can go
in and out to the spring, and fight treants and lamias to get enchanted bark and snake scales.
These can be sold for a tidy sum at the guild on the dock at Lanset! And you build levels at the
same time!!

Yes, you discovered a great way to make money Lots of monsters drop items for you to sell for cash. The mouse is only enabled if you start using it. If you hit a key on the keyboard, then the mouse will be disabled.

I'm sorry for the double-posting, but can someone who is having a game freeze issue please send me their saved game file where the freezing is occurring? This is the only way I'm going to be able to fix this since I can't duplicate the error on my end.

Your save files should be located in one of these two places:

If using Windows XP:
From My Computer, go to: C: > Documents and Settings > (your username) > Application Data > Vastar

If using Windows Vista/7:
Click on the Windows/Start icon, go to "Computer," then go to C: > Users > (your username) > AppData > Roaming > Vastar


The save files will be labeled "Vastar_Save_01.rxdata," "Vastar_Save_02.rxdata," "Vastar_Save_03.rxdata" and so on. Please send me the save file you're using when you get to this point with the bug. The save file corresponds to the save slot you use. So, for example, if you saved the game in slot 2, then the save file will be labeled "Vastar_Save_02.rxdata." Or if you saved the game in slot 3, then the save file will be labeled "Vastar_Save_03.rxdata." The AUTOSAVE file is ALWAYS Vastar_Save_01.rxdata since it's always saved in the first slot.

Please email your saved game file to: rebecca (-At-) exodus-studio (-d0t-)(-C0M-). So I can get this issue taken care of asap! Thanks!

THANK YOU to the person who sent me their save file! I was able to fix the freezing issue in Xathia's story in the Kobold Cave, and I believe the matter has been fixed in Danton's story, as well. If anyone is still having freezing issues in Danton's story in the Goblin Cave before the boss battle (or any freezing issue in any other part of the game), please send me your save file so I can look into it. This is the only way I can fix this, as I'm unable to duplicate this error myself for some reason.

The new game has been uploaded to Plimus, so all you have to do is click on the download link from your email again to get the new file. If you're unable to download for whatever reason, please let me know. Thank you!

Your saved games will NOT be affected when you uninstall/re-install the new version of the game.
