Thank you I had found the treasure but not the exit - which areas have those mid point bosses - I must have got one to be able to open the shrine for the spear of destiny but can not remember which one so could you tell me where to find them - many thanks

The one you already got was probably from the Antediluvian, as you completed the Strength path (to my knowledge). The Hellhound is beyond the grid I just helped you with. The last one is obtained by defeating the Pied Reaper on the Intelligence path - so there's one to be gained on each path.

king zombie and corpses

Postby jincyk » Thu May 22, 2014 2:22 pm

I've got Leonardo at 55, Boaz at 48, Ryota in the 40s too, but I can't survive encounters with the King Z. and Corpses. Is there some particular strategy that actually works? I've tried just about everything.

Jincyk: Do you have the skill Seraph's Breath for Leonardo? It's twice as powerful as Infernal Dragon, but single-target. You learn it from Elder Methuselah by paying 100,000 gold for it. He's on a rock in the ocean north of Behgar (on Vulcan's map, hug the right edge of the screen and walk straight up; it's between Behgar and Mesomia). You should use this on the King Zombie.

IMPORTANT: Before meeting Elder Methuselah, you must talk to the person in Fauston who mentions him.

Focus on killing the King Zombie first, because his "Death's Touch" attack is devastating. It's best if you can take him out in round one, so you can then shift your focus to the Corpses before they have the chance to wear you down (Infernal Dragon might be useful as it hits them all). If you have items or skills that raise your Attack power, use them.

You have to talk to the two guards in front of the fortress who tell you about a secret passage in the resistance base. If you've forgotten, the entrance to the resistance base is behind the displaced bookshelf in the back of the library.OK, I found the secret passage. Please tell me how to get passed the gate.

Also I am stuck in what to do next - I am on a pyramid thing in the shrine of agility and when I step on a tile, it takes me to an outer world grid where I have found two tombstones but do not know what to do next- help please+: +::surrender

You find shrine keys by defeating the three "midpoint" bosses in the Elemental Shrine - the Hellhound, the Pied Reaper, and the Antediluvian.

As for that grid:

As marked, you begin in the middle, and the dot in the lower right section of the grid is the exit. In-game, it slowly and subtly flashes (you may have to stand still for a moment so you can see it, but as you know, you don't have much time; 30 seconds to be exact).

You can't get into the front gate of the fortress.

After you talk to those guards, check the middle of the back wall in the resistance base to open the way forward.

After you finish the events in Fiyara following the Southern Islet, use the Sky Horn to call Vulcan and go to South Behgar.

Briony:
Spoiler: show
You don't know what it meant to me for you to tell me how much you liked the ending. Thank you... thank you so much!! +::cry

As for the Iron Emperor, the damage from his Gamma Ray Burst can be quartered by equipping yourself with those old Filter Goggles you used for the Twin Soul battle in Carlo (they count as headwear). The Radon Ring, which can be purchased in the secret accessory shop in Fauston, will halve the attack's damage, and its protection can be stacked on top of the Filter Goggles, cutting Gamma Ray Burst's power to about 1/8th. But you may wish to use your accessory slots for something other than the Radon Ring (the Filter Goggles alone should be sufficient; just be sure to Guard with everyone on turn 1).

This fight is largely about survival. Normally, the Iron Emperor is impervious to physical attacks, and weak only to Fire, Water, Darkness, and Thunder. You could use the Elemental Guardian crystals that you can buy in the Castle in the Sky, or the ultimate skills that Elder Methuselah teaches you. Anything less powerful probably won't do much. You will, of course, need lots of healing items, as well as Stat Raisers, Element Barriers, and Life Guards.

But here's the catch. From the fifth turn onward, the Iron Emperor has a small chance to overheat. When he overheats, he becomes completely defenseless, and even regular physical attacks will do a ton of damage. If he overheats, drop what you're doing and just slam into him with everything you've got - usually, your strongest physical attacks will do more damage than Elemental magic. He will "reboot" the next chance he gets, then the survival phase kicks back in. It's a real blessing whenever he overheats.

Remember, this is an optional fight, a "superboss" if you will, and it's meant to be insanely hard. But if you defeat the Iron Emperor, you'll then be able to participate in the Arena Challenge (a battle marathon where you fight endlessly while going for a high score; the battles only stop when you're defeated). Good luck!

Topaz Shard: Mt. Marine (Fiyara), atop the waterfalls, near the summit (the chest is semi-hidden behind trees).

Sapphire Crystal: Dropped by the enemy Dark Star. It appears randomly in the cave east of Fauston (South Behgar) that you need dynamite to open. Take the east exit from the village and follow the road to the southeast.

Onyx Ring: Bog of Styx in Hobo. At the very beginning, there is a hidden passage through the trees to the right. It takes you a looooong way, to a secret entrance into the temple. You'll fight a Mimic for the ring.

Topaz Ring: Mt. Marine. At the northwestern edge of the large lake before the waterfall area (take the northwestern path before the waterfalls instead of northeast) is a cave that you need dynamite to open. Defeat the Mimic in the cave to get the ring.
