Is there a rhyme or reason to status changes?

Are they based on Resistance or Mind or just random dumb luck?

For example, the purple cat things cast spells that cause coldness, boredom, etc etc.
Some of my party members are always getting status changes and others never.

Inquiring minds want to know.

they are based on luck and character' attributes

But which attributes.

Are they different for each condition?

Coldness is Resistance or Strength?? Sleep is mind??? Anger is mind???

If I want to equip something that keeps everyone was falling asleep or getting bored or getting cold, which attributes do I work on.

Hmmm, I meant personal attributes.
Example, Tarabulla is a fire elemental so immune to venom.
An explorer may be resistant to venom etc

Nothing is like to the stats - but yuou can always equip sth that counters sleep if you do not want your characters to fall asleep.

I thought MM and LF was set in whole different universes! That means you can't use an example from LF for MM! Sorry for being like this...
