You don't need the Orb of Earth (if that is what you are talking about) to get in secret room 3, you can enter normally.

To enter secret room 4, you need the Orb of Water and Mom in your party.

I don't think any orb is necessary to get into SR #3, but you need the water orb to get SR #4 (yes, it is in the Temple). When I played in easy mode it worked fine, but in normal mode I couldn't (don't remember if MOM was actively in my group) do it until I returned from Crest and had so few characters available that I was using her.

I even tried using the earth orb to see if I could get through the north wall of SR #3 where you bounce back, but so far haven't been able to figure out if this is an Indy thing to keep us guessing

The bouncing wall goes away when you kill The Perfect Chopper or it did for me.
