Though I have to say, never ever have I heard about giving this for Christmas!
And loof, I must disagree. Bigfoot was way easier. This has absolutely nothing to do with Christmas, so the clue was very confusing for me.
In the end I just thought completely different and asked myself, what would you need at the end of the year? Something that might be useful for the next year? And then I had it!

To all those who are still torturing their brains: Most of us do need this. I myself would get lost without. It's useful every day of the year.

lol Just goes to show how cultures can be different!

Not only have I gotten it for Xmas from friends and family, here it is also common for certain establishments to give it out to regular customers during the holiday period! I guess it's popular because it's exactly at this time of year that you need a new one! Also I don't think it's so outdated - I may actually use it less than newer digital versions of it but still enjoy having one hanged on the wall!
