I don't mind fighting enemies. But I prefer to clear an area and then explore the area in peace.
Yet it also depends on how tough the monsters are.
In Sweet Lily Dreams for example I can see the monsters, but they are so tough that fighting is becoming really annoying and for me it takes away a lot of the fun, no matter how good the rest of the game is.

My brother tried Aveyond 2, and the monsters were HORRIBLY hard to beat. Regular fights definitely shouldn't be too hard, it should be saved for the boss.

The Aveyond games were the ones I started with and I don't remember them being too hard. If they had been I wouldn't have continued playing RPGs I guess. I really loved them! Only the very last one was much harder imo.
In SLD (in normal mode) each monster needs at least two rounds to be killed and they do a lot of damage. So with two foes at once you're lucky when you kill them in four rounds. There's no real good healing spell and you never seem to have enough money cause you have to buy a lot of healing items.
It's a pity, cause the game itself is very nice!
So if the fights in BOL are not that hard I think I'd prefer the invisible encounters over that.

I don't know for AV2 but I like very hard fights especially if there are strategies and/or equipments to make them easier

Yes, but for boss fights. Normal monsters should be killed more easily.
Also in SLD I can epuip only one item on each character which makes it hard to find a strategy.

ah well I don't know for other games, I am just talking about mines: equipment and party choices are always important (crucial).

I just mentioned it to compare.
Yesterday I said to a friend that your games are "well balanced". By that I mean you do have to work to get your party levelled, to earn money and all that stuff, but it pays. If you're diligent you can afford what you need/want. That's what I like.

I do not really enjoy a ton of easy fights. I prefer sparser, more difficult ones. The easy ones just seem disruptive and get annoying sometimes(Most of the time I just rush them and they all DIE!!! ) but I do admit that they are very useful for leveling up.

MM doesn't really have TOO many too easy fights. Mostly they are just when you go back to places you've already been, like Green Grass and the like.

I really like the big bad fights, though. I enjoy the whole strategy thing.

Yes, I know. I did kind of find it funny, coming back with a bunch of warriors and then being challenged by an AWFUL DRAGONFLY!!!
