Just what was Yu doing in the Haunt of Fear? He said he was a monk that fights demons, but he was just standing in some random room, and didn't do anything. Literally, aside from telling your party members to run away, which would be counter-productive to his supposed mission of fighting demons. And after you beat him, he joins you like nothing's wrong.

Now at first, I thought he was some sort of robot, or living doll, based on his appearance, and that was why he hardly did anything... but then he said he's part of a group of monks. So, to sum up, he says he fight demons... but he acts like a coward, and sits there and does nothing in some room, and then after the fact, (defeating the demon,) he gets up and join you like nothing's wrong. (As in, he gets up and acts like he didn't do nothing about the demon.)

So... what's up with Yu?

He is a bit in his own world... maybe in fact the ghost of a monk??

Also remember that at the time the demon is still in his lethargic form! He shifts from a flame to his demon form only when Jordan uses the concoction!
Maybe Yu was just wanted to prevent the demon from leaving the building but not to confront him unless needed!
