Glitch with Great Balls of Fire

I've used the secret path at the entrance of the Oracle section and am in the middle tower of the three. Going east from the first map to the next; just above the entrance is an Ohr. When I try to use Calypso's Great Balls of Fire against it, I get an error message, and her spell is aborted, as is Jardel's turn. The game continues, but I have to use physical to finish the fight.

It's weird, I've never had it. Do you have a screen of the error message?

does the same thing happen if you redo it (same fight)?

That's what I've just tried to do. I'd teleported back to the town. When I went back in, I went straight there and fought it, no error message. Then I realised that I needed to re-do the switches, so went off and did them, but when I came back, the Ohr hadn't regenerated, so I couldn't test it. Because there's only 3 save slots, I'd already saved over the pre-return save, so couldn't reload. So if it's a recurring thing, it obviously has to be after the switches are done.

There is no possible way that switches influence that.
So this glitch seems random... +::surrender

Possibly. with only 3 save slots (ahem...) we'll never know.

Battles aren't connected to, err, anything that's non-battle. It's like Vegas, what happens in a battle, stay in a battle.
This means all battles involving the same protagonists are the same. If you get another identical one, feel free to try the same moves.
