Actually, to be honest, I think rather not. I used to hate random encounter games, but since TBOL I changed my mind. Then when playing 3S several times in a row I totally got used to it.
MM5 I only played invisible so far.

There are still moments in a game when I'd prefer not to be ambushed all the time so I could explore a new place undisturbed, especially when it's a big dungeon. But it certainly does have its advantages. You certainly level up faster.

Yes. Only in big dungeons it can get quite disturbing when I have to concentrate on where I already have been and which junction I have yet to take.
Visible encounters are nice though when the sprites look like the monsters. Then the screen is more alive.

Yes, visually it's better, but gameplay wise it's less addictive IMO.

One thing's for sure. The groups of encounters can vary more with invisible monsters which makes levelling up not QUITE as boring.

Actually with Ace you can have the same variety with visible monsters, as long as it is some sort of general monster sprite. I could be wrong, but I don't think you can do it if the sprite has to match the monster - and what would you do for groups of monsters where not all of them are the same?
