Option to "Go through" or "Enter"?

The guide says that after the fight at Roke village, the game gives you the option to pass straight through or not. I don't get this message.Can someone please let me know if this is a glitch, or is the guide not correct? Going through the swamp again is no big problem, but having to retrace my steps every time later in the game might not be fun.

The guide is correct about that.

I have just done a test on the latest version, and yes, it does work.
Just to be absolutely sure - the fight the Guide is referring to is the one that only happens after you have been inside the house, not the two small optional ones. Is it the fight after the house that you are referring to?

I'm sorry, I was the one making a mistake. I had done the fight, and been in the house and spoken to the soldier and got the letter, and I thought I had searched everywhere, but I hadn't found the recipe book! "Go through" option now comes up. Thanks, everyone.
