I was wondering how luck effects the characters in leveling up.

Some skills use it, for starters.
In general I think it also affects random things such as getting inflicted debuffs, or inflicting them.
But Kes might be able to give you a more detailed explanation.

Yes, luck is one of those less obvious attributes. As Indy said, it's needed in some skills - note that Jerrat's healing skills use it, as well as Aaydan and Rowath having it.

It does definitely influence how often an enemy succeeds in inflicting something on you, and you on them, but it also affects how often you get a Critical hit to dish out. So if your luck is higher than an enemy's, then you are more likely to inflict e.g. a status debuff on them, and they are less likely to succeed in inflicting one on you. As a lot of enemies in this game can deal out status attacks, it makes sense to use some of your Spend Points to boost luck.

Depending on the mode you're playing in, it can be very good to boost Aaydan's luck a lot. I remember I was doing that in Legendary Mode (then again who plays that mode besides me? xD)
