Certain Characters, Certain Events?

I've been wondering about this. I have the Monk as the leader and when I got to the end of Rakkahem Pass, I found him now wearing the Azure Gem in the ring slot. Is this event the same for the leader regardless of who you choose or is this character specific?

You could have anyone as the leader, though as you can change them around using the Party option. Surely it's the person you picked first?

Absolutely, first picked = the one who was with Darlene in Isendra Tower = the leader
