Help Thief?

On the second screen of the tieves' village there's this guy who says he needs recruits, knives, Explosion Rocks ...
At the end of the conversation I remember Leo thinking that, if he finds what the guy needs, he'd help him.
Is there actually a way to do sth for this guy?

Got what? I found a guy selling a bunch of explosive rocks and talked to everyone more than once (I thought). What do I need to do for the thief that needs help?

you need to find a hole that has around 50 explosive rocks as far as I remember ... you should explore the south region until you find a hole and a dialogue pops up where it says there is a monster there ... you fight that boss monster and after that you get the rocks.

Not quite. It's where that monster was, but you need to jump down on a ledge to another hole.
Once you got the Explosive Rocks, talk to the thief again, and afterwards to his girlfriend. She'll give you a little reward.
