I believe darkange is right.

First, I did

Spoiler: show

all the other objectives with Random, but missed the treasure. Then I played all the other parties, and did all of their objectives.

But no "True ending" for me.

Second, I played

Spoiler: show

once again with Random and got the treasure (and all the other objectives).

Then I reloaded my final save with Jirina and left the fortress ... and got the "True ending"!

I killed every single girl during my "Z-playthrough", btw - so not killing anyone is not the key...

Hm, I don't think so. Indy said he wasn't sure if anyone would ever get that ending, so it can't be that simple.

Like you said once ... you can't always trust Indy ... he is a trickster and an oracle lol ... plus maybe if we consider most people will play with Laxius party first because they feel it is more exciting and they can't wait ... then you know why that's the case.

Yeah, as far as I can see it has nothing to do with whether you kill the girls or not, but entirely to do with how you have played the other parties first and getting their objectives.

I suppose it would be possible to play the zombie party and not get the Queen, in which case, I wonder how the ending would go?

Hm, I really wonder why Indy said he wasn't sure anyone would get that ending. He said it twice on different occasions.

Then the zombies just leave the castle and the ending has nothing to do with the queen.

Complete Random's quest including finding the bank (because of Rufus)
Complete the Z quest with Jirina
