Resources Preventing Success

I am about ready to finish the Ice Shrine with reversed parties (Busho in the Evil Shrine). Since Busho’s party was given (without my approval) all the items, Caius' party has virtually no resources other than what is found/bought. The biggest problem is that no TP potions can be purchased anywhere so battle strategy is focused around the minimal use of TP. The Arena is the only place with a store to buy stuff and the selection is dismal. Am I missing something obvious?

Q25 Lift the Sword

No problem with Busho’s party and Nyx who removed the sword after she was given 2@ ATK boosts. But with Caius and Nyx, there is only one ATK buff item which is a Hero Jar. Mimics have an 11% chance of dropping a Hero Potion. So, the only solution is to harvest Mimics? Really?

EDIT: I just spent the last 45 minutes of my life with the last Mimic left in the Ice Shrine. Save, fight, wait for Hero Potion drop, exit game, repeat from save point. Finally a hero potion dropped.

Q42 Romance Paused

I have 3@ MAT Mind Potions and a Cosmic Potion. Something is wrong with this quest. It’s making the chicken quest look easy. Is there a boost that I don’t have, but I need? I don't understand why other players aren't having an issue with this. Q42 has been triggered in my list.

I was able to solve this with Busho’s party using a Muscle Potion that gives MaxHP buff, but Caius’ party has nothing available that will solve this and get the relic inside.

I finished with the second ending. It's definitely harder and requires more strategy, especially since I didn't find a way to buy tonic herbs or bolt jars. I gave frenzy to Busho, thinking Caius already had a two-strike boost, but then Busho found a two-strike boost, so frenzy definitely would have been better given to Caius. However, I was able to open the formidable chest. I used two hero potions (not the hero jar, but the hero potions). I had 3 hero potions and I must have obtained them either in the ice shrine or in one of the side quests.

However.... despite having a cosmic boost and a hero potion, I was never able to complete the love quest. I know littlebro said it just takes one MAT, but, sadly, not for me. And I did try it with the latest-until-today package. It will be interesting to see what that outcome is, but, for me, it's just been too aggravating to try anymore. I'm done with it.
Unless there's a marriage proposal, the struggle just isn't worth it.

I do believe with what you have, you should be able to complete it. How old is your version?

As for battles, indeed TP is missing a bit, that's why getting Nyx immediately is very important, to make up for it.

I am using the download from yesterday. Is it possible there's a remnant from previous versions causing this? It's very frustrating since other people have apparently been able to finish this quest and it doesn't make sense that I cannot. Is there any possibility that Caius cannot do it but Busho can? Again, I have a problem understanding how that could happen, but it's a thought.

I agree getting Nyx is the first thing that should be done for anyone choosing this path. It's a big change in TP availability after spending the entire game using TP-based techs. I have never used the basic Attack so minimally as with this game.

I only had 2 of those "Hero" boosts and only Mimics seem to drop them (at 11% rate). At least there is a solution to the buff problem for someone willing to farm Mimics with a specific save and restart strategy. Any solution is better than no solution.

I know that it is possible to get all boosts without farming, because I did. Sadly, I don't remember all the locations.

ATK boost (1) from the guy in the pub in Fay. As this was my second ATK boost, that must mean that the other one is available somewhere before going into the Ice Shrine. I know that for a certainty, because I remember getting the sword before having to face the boss battle when you enter.

MAT buff is no problem. I have 3 of them. Did you solve the Love Letter quest with Caius? Or just Busho? I had no problem when I did these with Busho, but these issues exist with Caius.

I don't remember if I got an ATK boost from the guy in the Pub. I certainly bugged him enough thinking bar .... potions?
