I got Caius to do the quest by using MAT and MMP boosts. The volcano merchant's pack now contains both of the boosts needed. Ofc, keep the MDF ones for the Crystal God.

Yep, the quest had a glitch that prevented the 2 boost usage when I played with Caius on my 2nd time. That's partly the reason I wanted to know if anyone else was encountering a problem right now. I downloaded a newer version between the first time my party read the letter and the 2nd time it was read by Busho.
