Thoughts thus far

Things I've really liked thus far...
The leveling of the magic/skills with use. I'll admit I tend to find my one mage niche and then just spam it, so this mechanic is forcing me to more fully develop those I probably wouldn't use much, and with very positive results.
The graphics, which I find smoother and more attractive than earlier engines, and the non-rtp enemies are really done well.
but mostly...
Now that I've found Genevieve, it's definitely the banter. I know there are some who don't care for all the 'talk-talk-talk', but, for me, how do you tell a story without dialogue? And this banter is just so funny and reminiscent of Random, Sarah, and Wendala. Yet, they aren't the same characters at all. Caius shows the same frustration when the bickering starts, but whereas Random would just order the two females to stop the bickering, Caius seems to be a little less in control and even a little deferential. More of a 'Would you 2 please (i.e. pretty please) stop?' as opposed to Random's, 'Both of you are now ordered to stop!' It makes the characters more endearing. And, of course, Marlyn IS a succubus, so it's going to be interesting to see just how much control Caius is actually exerting over Marlyn (and vice versa of course).
The character development of Busho is definitely a little more subtle. (Is that an oxymoron?) I love the friendship between Busho and Caius: rivalrous, sometimes even callous, but the affection and loyalty of each for the other is never in doubt.
Gotta say, so far I'm loving this game, and I don't see this changing anytime soon. <3
