Did anybody find a use for this? I just left it and moved on, but it still bugs me. My thoughts..
1-It could have been used to unlock the Rosalia's cage if Caius weren't strong enough
2-It has something to do with the golden cocka
3-It's just a silly red herring

"Red Herring"? Is that the Trickster's new nickname?

I could never figure that switch out, either. Access did not seem blocked/improved anywhere because of the switch. And it's so far off the beaten path that you gotta think it does something.

I thought it had something to do with that blue mushroom, but I was wrong.

It has nothing to do with the Cocka that I can figure out unless it releases another slow, fat cocka that can be used. But, I never resolved the cocka quest.

The switch is
