Help please
I have completed this quest but the guild secretary keeps saying to wait a few more days for the reward . I have been back multiple times but no change. How long does it take? Am presuming I need to get the reward before I enter the outpost.

As long as you've reported it - multiple times, I gather - you're good to go on.
I hung around too not wanting to miss out on it being noted, but eventually moved on and you're credited with it the next time the guilds come up in play.

Seriously, by "a few more days" does that mean you should stay at the inn multiple times, or what? I don't want to proceed without settling the quest.

As MerryX explained, as long as you report the quest to the guild, you can move on with the story.
You can't complete the quest at this point. When the story takes you back to Azan, visit the guild and you will get the "quest complete".
