Hello! This is the developer.

I'm happy Elements II has finally been released on Aldorlea. The game had a very long and complicated development cycle, stretching back to the days when I was with my former publisher. I'm very proud of this new, enhanced edition, and hope you enjoy it! :) Please support me in my realization of the complete series, more than 20 years in the making.

Hi soulcatapult
Id like to try the demo and if i like it buy it but when i try to play the demo all I get is a black screen!
Ive got an updated brand new all in one HP so it shouldnt be a problem but thats whats happenning.
From what Ive seen in the pictures and read it looks like something I would want to play

Hi blumyst,

There are a few things you can try.

1. Press F5 to toggle fullscreen off (it's on by default)
2. Press Alt+Enter to activate the legacy fullscreen mode
3. Go into the game's config file (E2.ini) and change the value "Fullscreen=1" to "Fullscreen=0" (to start in windowed mode)

Hope this helps!

Ok starting my guide-free playthrough.

So I am torturing myself trying to figure out a perfect set of answers for the quiz Doyle gives in Avalon. Ideally, I want to be recognized as charismatic and diligent, since they seem like two of the most valuable stats (even if charisma matters more outside of combat). Can anybody help me?

My best result to date is: compassionate, diligent, virtuous, not charismatic, no bloodlust, not slothful. I tried maybe five times because I also wanted some of the rare gear drops from the new monsters.

I am looking forward to playing the game and trying to get 100%. E1 was such a great game.

Sidenote: Playing fullscreen was driving me crazy so I manually edited the game.ini file to allow me to play in windowed. So watch out now I am officially a Hacker-in-training +::Dance

You... you're back. +::cry
Very, very wonderful to hear from you again... your work on the original guide was legendary.
I hope you enjoy E2! Oh, and if you want max Charisma, you have to answer No on Question 4 and Yes on Question 6. You'll get extra Cowardice and Sloth, though. Diligence is No on Question 2 and Yes on Question 4... so you can't have both.

By the way, if you have high Compassion and no Bloodlust, you might face problems with low Attack power throughout the game. On my first-ever playthrough while making the game, this is what happened, and essentially I could only cause damage with magic.

I will say that Wisdom is a very important Attribute, as many Combos have high requirements for it.
Please continue to let us know how your playthrough goes! +::clap

Elements I was an awesome game and I loved playing Elements II while it was being developed, so I'm really excited about this announcement. It's been a long time coming. I'm definitely going to buy it. +::YAY

I remember this being a truly epic game. My reaction to it while it was being developed

Lady JJ wrote:I loved playing this game. There was just so much to do. I think my favorite was catching all those monsters. The puzzles, for the most part, were hard but could be solved even by my not-so-nimble-anymore fingers. :) As I recall, the only puzzle that was impossible was a fire puzzle. Since it did lead to a higher level of magic for one of the characters, I'm hoping this will be nerfed in the next installment. Side quests were a lot of fun as well. I'd encourage anyone who hasn't played this game to give it a try. :)

A later reply by the developer confirms that the fire puzzle was indeed nerfed on Easy mode, so that makes me really happy. One thing I didn't mention, is that you can change from Easy to Normal mode at any time during the game. I generally played on Normal mode, until/unless I got a one of those 'not so friendly for seniors QTE's' and changed to Easy mode, quickly reverting to Normal as soon as the puzzle was completed. So that's a really nice feature. <3

Thank you! I decided to go with diligence with this initial play-through, even if it slows me down from unlocking some fun things sooner. Anything that gives me +agil and +crit is hard for me to pass up.

I finally finished grinding out all the rare gear from the first few areas, and now I am stumped on one of the same things that got me when I was playing the beta. EDIT: found it, OCD temporarily averted yay

Enjoying the game so far, and planning to tackle all the dungeons on the hardest days in case it gives some special bonuses. Stylistically, I like that all the areas have multiple reasons to keep going back to them and secrets or hints hidden away.

Awesome! So glad you're enjoying it. Thanks so much! I've always tried to prioritize anything that augments player immersion and replay value in my work. :)

Hello soulcatapult,
I absolutely loved Elements Zero (is that Elements 1 - or did I miss one?) I still want to play EO in Marathon mode!
I don't know what it is about your games but they seem to speak to me and I now buy your games without question - even though I prefer using a mouse. I don't know quite what it is but the game play feels different and the story line is phenomenal Thank you!!
I have found it so interesting to tinker with ethics and moral values - what happens if you weight to the "darker side"? I am trying to find that balance with good and evil - and it's not easy and make it playable as others have already noted +:::|

Thank you so, so much, It means the world!
Elements 1 was originally sold on Aldorlea and Steam but I delisted it years back for personal reasons. It can still be downloaded (for free!) from my website. I'd like to remake/remaster it eventually and release here again, but that might be a bit far off.

You generally want to avoid having high negative attributes, except perhaps Bloodlust (as it contributes to your attack power). As I already mentioned, having high Compassion and low Bloodlust will render your physical attacks virtually ineffective. There are a few cases where certain skills or combos require your negative attributes to be at certain levels, but it's never terribly high.

No, the structure is very different, so they wouldn't be compatible.
Thanks for your kind words. I do owe them quite a bit, but in the end they made some mistakes that unfortunately cost them.
