When/How does Luke acquire Inferno?

There is an issue when Talking with Laine in Faust after getting Piper.

Game asks to type in Character's name. If name is typed, then Laine answers "I'm deeply Sorry, I couldn't read it."
But if "Luck" typed, then no problem. Glad I bought the guide.

Temple of the Void

I received a second Eye of the Void in the temple. Is this the ritual referred to in the guide?

If you haven't bought the guide, you may miss out on some great stuff. It does hold my hand too much, but the maps and teleporting will probably drive you nuts. The Holy Temple is involved even with the guide maps. In Faust, I found boots by pure accident when trying to figure out a blinking statue. The black cat is definitely worth chasing around. And you just have to find the Piggy Bank if only for a chuckle.

There are 3 blessings available when returning to Faust, so I would save before entering the church. There are no changes to stats regardless of which blessing you choose, so good luck with that.

Also, Q#2 & #3 were easy to acquire, but Q#1 was a bit tricky. Just saying.

Nope I think the guide refers to a ritual with Sue.

There are 3 blessings available when returning to Faust, so I would save before entering the church. There are no changes to stats regardless of which blessing you choose, so good luck with that.

The guide says choose a word, but neither word cited in the guide is offered when talking with Laine. Instead, the player is presented with a screen and asked to type in the name of the Character. Typing "Luke" results in Laine's comment, "I'm deeply Sorry, I couldn't read it." But if the player types in "Luck" (not the character's name), Laine's comment is positive. It's almost as if the event text has been changed at some time.

Now I am at a loss. Is the ritual possible upon a later return? Or is this time-sensitive? I've entered every building except the parents and visited every area (I thought). Hmmmmm.

EDIT: I triggered the ritual. I have no idea why now, since I talked to Sue before. Maybe a second time did it?

Ahh Hah! I forgot about that beginning game screen where you can rename the Luke character. I think that is exactly what is going on. When I typed in "Luck" (or probably "Love"), the game progresses. It is likely that the text from the start of the game is being reused (copied) for this event rather than a selection between the 2 words.

I couldn't trigger that quest at first. Rebecca just kept saying she was trying so hard to stay awake.

The quest didn't trigger until after I completed Sue's ritual. Was this intended?

btw, I never noticed before how 'bug-eyed' this character's face image was before. She was the perfect rtp character for this role, wasn't she?

The 2 are unrelated. Normally, just talking twice to Rebecca triggers the quest.

Yup, I went back to an earlier save prior to reentering the town and talking to Rebecca twice did, indeed, trigger the quest.
