Out of nowhere for me.
It is more addictive, surprising and seems better for levelling up (which I *like* to do in a rpg)

if it was up to me there wouldn't be any invisible monsters
what if you were in an rpg you stand on wide empty field then suddenly something"attacks you"
it isn't very realistic is it
of course monsters can hide in tall grass or behind trees or even underground or overhead
but something popping out of nowhere, you'll be dead before you know it

I prefer to be able to see enemies, even if they spawn randomly and chase you down, as they do in the Tales series. At least you know they're coming for you and you can run like a chicken if you're low on health. Though I do also like the "Clearing rooms of enemies" aspect of being able to see them. Especially when there are rewards for doing so.

I prefer them visible myself. I the invisible ones always get annoying for me after a while, and sometimes prevent me from exploring further when I get stopped every few steps, and get frustrated, even when I am strong enough to beat them fast.

I can only agree with Firefly and Ranma.Random encounters are frustrating and not realistic.

Laxius Force had both visible monsters and random encounters, and I thought it was nicely done.

Oh, and Huskyy, random encounters aren't *always* more frustrating than visible monsters if the visible monsters respawn (yes, I'm thinking of the Lucida Tower from Laxius Power 3  ).

I personally love random encounters lol but then again i love levelling up my characters.

LF had 98% visible encounters i should add - i want this to be a brand of the trilogy, that means LF2 and 3 should follow this.

But you can still dodge visible monsters if you want. And this is only MY opinion.I PERSONALLY always find random monstes frustrating.(But that place was really killing +::biggrin )

Yes the LF series is very similar to LP3 in that regard.

Well, yes. Sometimes you can indeed dodge visible monsters, but sometimes they simply move too quickly to be avoided.
