I just found Arafell - I am at the point where I have to crawl into the whole and equip the Lantern, which I did, but the Lantern will not light up !!!! What is wrong?

I played Ara Fell and the game can be finished without problem. But I dind't get what you want to say.
Can you specify more please?

At the beginning of the game the Lita and Adrian are in the caves (entered from under the bed). They have the lantern. To the far right is a whole they crawled into and it is dark. I equipped the Lantern and that room does not light up.

That's all the light you'll get, just that little circle. You need to navigate around like a dark maze.

How do i get beyond the fence

You activate something in other place in order to remove that fence from the way.
