Adding Baretta to Party later & a couple other ?'s

I completed everything in the Marshlands but hooking up w/Baretta...the 1st time I played the area, I was actually hk'd up w/Baretta as a party member and was in the Crypt. Then I messed up and played it again twice more, but each time I couldn't find Baretta in front of the Crypt, so after looking through the marshlands for a very long time, both x's, I gave up. Went to Xen, got the flowers, went to the circle, got back Guanidia after the kidnapping, I think I did some other stuff, I cannot remember at this point.

Through it all got to Rillia, completed the Mountain of Heroes, went to the Port of Rillia, then did the Map in Rillia...is it too late to wait til after getting the House quest to then go get Baretta?

I currently have as party members that I'm switching back and forth with: Of course the major players, Random and Sarah, Guanidia, Coryool, Luciana & her cat; Baboget, name? <he's the Minotaur from the Port of Rillia. The female guard from the Rillia Transport and hopefully soon, Sandy. I don't like that I cannot play 2 different parties at the same time, but c'est la vie...can Baretta be used as a player later on or not?


HELP, please and also, the "Mansion" in Witch Woods and the "Manor," Which are which witch's house's???
I killed the old woman that turned into the Demon Wraith thing in front of the windowless and doorless blue house; I killed the Skeletal Warrior at the tree encircled by pumpkins w/the treasure as bait; I went into the brownish black house where the goodies are; and was at the northernmost area where the ladder leads up towards the skeleton hanging from the top of that area, which you pass and go upward to nothing; I've checked every pumpkin for the goodies and found no key or help for any of these buildings; and the trap laid by the snake leading the way went to the blue house w/no windows or doors either.
Are any of these houses the "mansion" or "manor" or am I missing something again and there are hidden houses I've kept not seeing? I have spent 2-1/2 days going through Witch Woods which kept putting me in the "Eye of the Woods" on every wrong turn. I will accept a Spoiler at this point to save my sanity!!!

Whosoever answers this plea for HELP, I will be eternally grateful to!

After you reach the the Lamia tribe in the swamp, Baretta is gone for good.

The "mansion" and "Manor" are the same place, people just refer to it differently. To find the witch, though, follow the pumpkins.

To find the manor, go left one screen, up one, right one, up one more and right again.

I am in the process of mapping the witchwoods, I'll share once I finish it. The area is very confusing. Cleverly done, but after a point it's just frustrating.

Thank you, I feel like I'm stuck on idiot mode when I get this frustrated! I am trying to map out my movements likewise through out the whole game, but I lost track with the Witch Woods, so I will do it after I complete the game the first time. It takes all of the fun out of playing...Thank you again!

I got so incredibly lost in there the only way I could find myself was to start mapping, and I figured I'd finish it in case someone else needed it.
