I've been through the Hall of Madness but still haven't gotten back to my world. Found a room with a lot of switches. Turned them all to the 'On' position but can't tell what that did, if anything. I'm completely stuck. Can't find anywhere new to go. This area is not that large, so it should be simple, but I'm apparently missing something very obvious. Where do I go?

I'm not sure (smile). I'm totally confused at this point. I did the part where I had to split up into 3 teams of 2 and each team had to make their way to a crystal. After all 3 teams had completed their part, the original team of 4 was reunited in an area that was totally foreign to me. I guess I'm looking for those stairs still. Help me out if you could.

Ah, I see where you are.
Once all the switches have been flipped on, look for the room that is to the top/right (it's the only red one).

I can't find a room top right that's red. Can't find anything that's red in this area. When I first entered this area I was in a long hallway, running west to east and the floor is dark blue and black. Going east down that hallway there are 4 (I think) north entrances to rooms. The next to the last one has 3 doors that won't open and the last one won't let me through. You say there's a secret path but I can't find it. Can you be a bit more specific?

First you need to make sure to flip all the switches ON.
Once you are done with this go as further east as you can, then go up and enter the room that is to the right.
This is the "red room".

Well, I feel a bit like an idiot. I had made the wrong assumption that the 'On' position was the same on all the switches. Pretty sneaky to mix them up like that (smile). Thanks. I'm now in the red room.

Well, well, that was fun!!! Didn't think I was going to be able to beat that guy. But finally did. I am now on the Nevermore stairs....tirelessly....forevermore....up..up..up...... When is it going to end? Today, I hope. Am I supposed to be positioned in the center of the stairs, or off to the side?

hmmm once you start walking up the stairs, never ever stop pressing UP (up arrow)

otherwise you'll be teleported to a place that is neverending indeed (which means game over).
you can tell u r there if the stairs are totally empty and once to the top you are teleported back to the bottom.
if that is happening, reload to your last savefile and face the trial of nevenmore again

I never stopped pressing UP but still got game over. The stairs were not empty and I have been given the opportunity by the Phoenix to visit some past places. Am I where I am supposed to be?

well if you reached the phoenix then you've passed the nevenmore, right?

Right. I was just hoping the game would continue.....it was a great game. Am looking forward to more.
