Hi,everyone!I'm new here.
I'm stuck in the manor in witch wood.I can't open the gate next to the wax statues,wich leads to the room with the skeleton portrait and a red chest.I've tried every lever combination and I have the key from the spider lair.I've defeated the elder and the spirit behind the lonely portrait next to the party room,too.Can someone help me?I'm sorry to bother you guys with this,but I can be so stupid at times.Thankies! Ps.:Sorry if I wrote something wrong,I'm not perfect at english(yet,I hope ).

I can't really help you because I'm stuck in the same situation, so at least I can commiserate.

Yeah, I defeated the Elder's ghost, defeated the portrait ghost in the room to the top-right of Elder's dining hall (got the relic hero shield), went through the door near the baby ghost, got the manor key, explored the guest apartments, got the holy sword, opened the middle door at the entrance hall, went to the spider room (via the wall crack), got the Lucretia key from the spider room, and I can't seem to open the gate in the dead gallery with the red chest. I assumed the Lucretia Key (from the spider room) opened that gate.

I wonder if that one "odd one out" girl's portrait does something, but every time I talk to it all I get is Sarah saying how creeped out she is. I wonder if there's something in the Butcher Room, but all I've found are a few items. I'm pretty sure I did everything in the left hand door.

The graphic adventure fan in me is sure I'm missing something completely obvious.

Oh man! I had a feeling I hadn't searched that room fully enough. Thanks. Man, I KNEW I was missing something totally obvious.

Where is the Elder?

I feel like I've explored most of the mansion, I fought the portrait and got the relic from it but I can't get past the middle door at the entrance or the living door at the top that requires the elder's permission. Even though there are lots of posts on the mansion I didn't see any mentioning where the elder is. Any help would be appreciated.

The elder is the ghost on the left side of the left table in the party room.You have to defeat him to get his 'permission'.

For the key to the room in the Dead gallery where there's a red chest, go throught the middle door and go left immediately into the butchery room & you'll see a skeleton sitting in the back middle of the room against a wall. Press on the skeleton and he'll say something, then give you the Dead Key!!!!

Where is the key to open the middle door by the way?

I'm a little confused, I've totally completed the mansion but I still can't get past the door to the portrait battle.. It's the door in the dining room where the elder is.. Have I missed a switch somewhere??

you have put off the switch that is in the very beginning of that area , you see it when you enter the first right door of the witch mansion

I still don't know which lever to use. I only found two, one leads to the portrait which you fight and get the relic shield, another opens the way to the central red chest in right door.
