I have tried those stairs now several times but they are endless!! 30 screens up, 50 screens up, doesn't matter, the stairs go up and up! I am lost

Stairs of Evenmore

Has anybody already walked the Stairs of Evenmore, those endless stairs after you defeat Ozur?
I have tried those stairs now several times but they are endless!! 30 screens up, 50 screens up, doesn't matter, the stairs go up and up! I am lost .
Can somebody help me, please? Do I have to do something in advance? Thanks for your help!!
