I know this sounds like a really dumb question but I didn't finish this quest til after I "finished the game". I rescued his friend from the secret room of the Fighters Guild, but where is he to claim my reward?

All the way south west, or all the way down to your left screen

Don't feel bad i did not find it either untill after.

Found him! Heh it was hard re-finding these other characters and objects after returning to all these places...I'd forgotten where most of them were.
