I'm not aware of any alternate way to complete this quest. Just note that the rings it lists are the rare ones you have available at that point in the game. There are plenty of other rare rings later in LF1 into LF2 that may be acceptable as well.
That said, I believe the love ring was exclusive to the rural town in chapter 1. The lava ring is found in chapter 3, but there is another one in LF2 that you can pick up later. (I'm not sure if this quest is still completable in LF2 though) The seed pendent was only buyable in chapter 3, but you could also find one of them in the ruins area of chapter 1. I believe the morning dew was completely exclusive to the Ch. 1 ruins area, with the really tough enemies that you can optionally explore.
So by chapter 4, the only hope you really have left is some of the exceptionally rare jewelry you can come across in the final areas of the game or in LF2. Perhaps the blessed ring, basla-mamoht, Cerulean Ring, or maybe the pearl of gladenmore may work? At least you can try, and let the rest of us know if you figure anything else out.

I never checked to see for certain if Sandy's items are lost. I’ve always just unequipped leaving party member to be absolutely sure I keep their equipment. I think some of the members give back their equipment, but not all of them.
