Is there a limit of time to win the 3 games at Modern Sciences? I've done part of Thieves guild quests going back to Modern Sciences I had 14 Food rations though it said you need 8 and I couldn't go there.

You don't have to play those games if you're tired of them, just move on.

Try having 16 food rations. 8 to get there and 8 to get back.
