I'm rather new at this game but, is it possible to convince the "boss" in the haunted house to back off.
Even if I don't have the charlotte earrings, the cape and those things?
I didn't go back home and faced the admirer...

Equip Marion with everything that boosts her MN, then use her meditation spell on her (Marion) and try 'convince' then. You shouldn't need the Charlotte earrings. Sarah had them when I did this part, and she wasn't in the party, she was on another quest.

And if you can't convince it, you can go always the hard was and kill it.
