I cannot seem to get past the Nomad village, I see a sign saying Tyrean Plain 2 miles west but I go west as far as the village and I cannot go anywhere else, where am I going wrong?

In case I am spelling it wrong I am trying to get to the first city that Sarah said they should head too after Sarah and Random have left their village and have already done about 12 quests along the way...

To the south of the nomad village, you will see some steps leading downwards. (Depending on what all you've done so far, there may be a guy blocking them. If he is, don't worry about it, he'll let you through eventually.) Immediately south of the village is Pazaara Fort, and there are a couple of quests to complete here. If you go south out of the Pazaara screen, you will be on the way to Tyrine. Once you head for Tyrine, you start Chapter 2. This means you can't go back and visit any of the places or finish any of the sidequests from Chapter 1, so don't go to Tyrine until you've done everything else you want to do in the places you've been so far.
