Can't Access Cave with Fire Mage

I'm trying to complete the the Fire Mage quest and talk to him before I return to Karim. The cave won't let me enter now. Also why is the walkthrough not compatible. It talks about another area at the fighter's guild that you can jump down to (with dangerous bulls?) but I can't find it. Thanks for any help that you can give

To reach the cave you must go up two screens and then left from the giant cave.

No I just can't get in it. It's like it's sealed up. There's only two caves to access right? The larger one and then the smaller one where the flowers were. I can't get in either.

To get to the bulls, you have to talk to the Naga at the bottom of the weapons tower and give her 99 food rations to travel there.

You can't reach her till you complete more quests for the guild though (The fire mage being one of them). As you complete more quests for the tower guild, they will let you jump progressively further down the tower until you reach the snake lady at the bottom.

The fire mage is in the same cave with the flower. It's a relatively small cave in the immediate area of the weapons tower, and it's the one with a wooden slab blocking off the rest of the cave. He's in that cave along the top, very near the flower I recall.

Thanks I found the cave and I've been back. I've only been offered the two quests from Karim, and the kill the ghost quest, plus Vester's quest, but nothing else offered and no path.

I am having the same problem...Randoms Mind stat is not high enough to complete this quest so I cannot get further down the tower....Even with the Meditation spell!!!! Now what?????

Random needs 600MN to complete the test. If meditation alone isn't enough, then swap around his equipment to whatever boosts his mind the most. The Yveen Triangular Shield and Wizardry Card both work great if you have either of them on hand.

Past that, about the only other option you have is leveling Random up, or paying for the Int. Seminar in the Mirsen Mage Guild. The Int. Seminar doubles your MN stat, but it wears off after one battle. (So you'd need to walk all the way from town to the Fire Mage without getting in a single combat to keep the MN+ effect going.)

Thanks Kale, I was wondering how high the stat had to be.....I will have to work on it...Don't know if I have the shield or not.....At least I know now what I have to do.....Thanks again.....
