Smuggling items

I am on Chapter 3, at the Adretana pass. A giant is offering me to smuggle items, what exactly does that do? Thanks!

As far as I know,it doesn't actually do anything in LFI and LFII...I have no idea about LFIII though....Just buy one of everything
