I'm following the walkthrough and I'm in Adretana but I haven't seen anything related to the burglar's bar and, of course, I cannot enter any of the locked houses.
Where is it?

Can be bought at the Thieves Guild in Mt. Zulle. If you're already in Adretana you can't go back there.

Hello again.
I returned to a saved game and made my way to Mt Zulle. I have been to the Thieves Guild, got the map and there's no other quests; neither is there anyone selling a burglar bar. There are two areas I cannot accesss. One is the library, the other is guarded and the guy just says that Bruberk will have a quest for me now that I've done something.
Any suggestions as to what I do next to get the burglar's bar?

The guy who sells the burglar's bar is Zahor (S of Bruberk and the green haired guy). But you must complete a few quests before you can buy it.
You said got the map - so you must have defeated the creature there. Talk to Bruberk again to receive his next quest.

Thanks. I realised that I have to find and kill the mysterious creature. I'm at the cave but need elven bait. Where can I find that, please?

You can buy it at the Hotel of Aisle.

Doh! Right that's where I'm heading to now. I thought I had bought one of everything there but I've been through this part of the game several times and perhaps I'm confused. I've got elven grog, though.
