Hi Gita,
No, not in the desert - you can find it in monster drops with the sewer blobs under the church, the thunder snakes in the forest on the way to Endsley, and a couple of other places like the dungeon at the end of the serpent tail peninsula east of Kalm.

Oh, sorry, I missed your heading - yes, I was wondering where Sandtropolis was but it seems it only appears once Bob reaches Level 50!

Sandtropolis appears in the desert when your luck is over 20 or 30. I forget.
Your level doesn't matter, just how high your luck is!!

make sure to take advantage of the "augment luck" spell that you can buy in white bridge.

keep those active when you interact with NPCs, or go into areas.

augment luck, intellect, dexterity- ALL SUPER handy.

You should have high luck anyways, I have all kinds of hidden dialogue and stuff in the game where you need luck

I still recommend spending time in the desert until you can make jeweled gear.
Then play the game like that
It's like a +20 to all attributes

to explain the strategy a bit better-- really early on in the game-- once you're about lvl 6 ish.
(kill monsters in the graveyard if you need to get a little stronger) you can nuke them with your lightning magic.

Then you go into the desert and start mining like it's no ones business--
it'll take about 2 hours to get your mining to lvl 8+
along with your crafting.

but this is where you farm that out--- you make an entire set of jeweled gear for Bob.
each piece is +3 to all attributes.

then you can start playing the game and youll find TONS of hidden dialogue you didn't know was there.

It makes you see the game entirely different

Crafting (armors) - leveling up?
I'm at level 7, and have crafted everything in weapons and armor - but the level still 7 - what do i need to do to progress?

please disregard - i made a few more and now at level 8

but my crafting is not going up to 8?

i made every item in armor and weapons, and a few dozens of simpler ones- still the same

You don't level up crafting by making everything that is ???.
You level up by gaining enough crafting experience.
You can make 500 leather armors and level up your crafting that way if you wanted.
