Any clue where to look for the Map to the Thieves Den?

After you get Karine, she will show you a new path. After you leave the monastery, you will have random encouters with thieves. It is a ramdom drop from the thieves.

Unfortunately, I didn't seem to randomly get the map. I already went thru most of the Sapphire Cave, decided to return to the towns to spend some gold and complete some quests.
Now that you let me know where to get the map, I've earned 25,000+ gold and still no map.
Did I miss my chance????

No. I got enough to train all of my people at all of the guilds and still had leftovers. Just keep fighting.

Thanks!! After a few more thousand golds and lots of potions, I finally got it. No problem with gold in this game...hope i can take it with me to the next chapter!!!
