Practically finished now (for my difficulty anyway):

24/24 Secret Rooms
12/11 Butterflies of Life
4/4 Animal Kings Beaten
35/35 Quests Done
Marine at level 33 and everybody else at 32

And one more question to the pile. The remaining 4 animal kings that I cant fight on this difficulty, do they drop anything that would hurt me to not have or do they just drop things that would be nice to have but aren't necessity?

Debating whether I want to take the time to replay on hard in order to get everything or not...

I never played on hard mode and never missed anything from the animal kings that are not available on normal mode, so you shouldn't worry about that.
What doesn't carry over are levels (all characters start at a preset level in the next game) and money. So if you have a lot of money, you should go and buy as much stuff as you can. Items and equipment do carry over, so you can sell stuff in the next game in order to get some more money.

Good thing I asked then, ended up with about 32k in money after finishing up in the Sapphire Cave and Ancient Temple. Guess I'll be able to stock up on large amounts of healing items now :D

What about the orbs and the trainings you can pay for at the guilds? Seems like it might be a waste to raise my stats now if I am going to lose levels and presumably stats when I move onto part two.

One thing I forgot to ask about too, I found one blue orb that I can't seem to get, it was in the water right inside the entrance to the Sapphire Cave.

Yeah, I would have been very irritated if Karine and Hirado had run off with some of my best gear...bad enough they stole the gold I used to promote them before I went to Mystrock

I'm just sad that many people prefer Shiva instead of Wild Goose for Marine. Wild Goose FTW! BTW 5 Dew stones? I remember finding one by pure accident in Green Grass but... +::O_o

I might go back and do a hard playthrough sooner then I expected since Take Me Higher is driving me up the wall. Might just be me but it is not impressing me nearly as much as A New Hope did...

I did not expect Take Me Higher to end so abruptly...Was assuming it would be like A New Hope where you go to a final spot that is purely for the ending scene once you are ready to move on.

Seemed like the whole episode had some flaws in it really
