Everytime I activate my little fairy helper, she takes damage in battle as if she's the enemy. Is this
supposed to be happening? When you use rush, they often hit her first!

she should take zero damage, but yes, if you rush, ie attack fast and in a mess, jeanne may take a hit as she is in the center of the fight.
i recommend you do not rush if your little fairy friend is present

I think it's because the game sees her as first in the line of the monsters. Even though she is not one of the monsters. Has it been tested with her on the far right side of the screen instead of the far left. That would make her last in line.

I have found that even if you don't rush, she gets hit if the monster that you told that person to hit dies before their turn. And in the Ancient Temple that is not good because those Laser Weapons kill her and even if you cast the spell again she doesn't come back until the next set of encounters.

Wow, that's pretty bad. Even though she's just a computer construct I feel sorry for her.

As for damage, some weapons do and some don't.

Another thing. After a certain point in leveling up your characters, the characters become so strong they hardly ever need to summon her anymore. Wouldn't it be nice if she became more powerful as the game progressed or as the characters (or Marine in particular) got stronger? Or maybe it would be nice to get advice from her between fights?

In Ep2, her role will evolve as well.
