Can't jump into secret Room

I get to this point after turning right by the statues, stand on the edge, and JUMP...
NOTHING!

What's to do, or is it me and I'm persona non grata at the party?

The first time I went to that room, I accidentally knocked myself back out, and you can't go back a 2nd
time. Got a previously saved game?
