In the next chapter do characters get to keep their well deserved acquired equipment?

I was able to get all the ancient equipment from the Ancient Temple.

Thank you SbN for your much needed info. I was able to defeat the demon with no promotions and I did not even use the guilds for boosts. I had 12 witch balms, 10 elder mandragore's and a plethoro of other restoratives goodies to defeat Djinn. It did take me over 10 minutes but I managed to take him down.

The ant king's pathetic little legs were trembling when Marine, Benoit, Karine and Harido showed up with some serious "ancient" whipping. The Croc king had tears in his eyes and maybe pathetically tried to wimper away as we made croc burgers out of him.

As long as all the randomly attacking enemies and optional bosses will homologate them, I won't complain.

How did you manage to keep the goodies after Marine made everyone put them back???

After you leave the temple what you do not have cannot be taken away from you.

To be more precise, the event which removes all the ancient weapons from your inventory is triggered only once - when you cross the gate to the temple for the first time after you defeat Djinn. Anything you haven't taken from the temple until this moment you can take later without Marine insisting on retrieving it.

This is an excellent tip/secrect and I was thrilled to be able to keep those weapons. I am not sure what purpose they will serve in the future but its nice to have them.

In the Ancient Temple! It's hidden in several treasure chests some of them in plain sight others in secret rooms!

Meaning, don't open any chests? I didn't keep most of the weapons since I didn't know about this quirk in advance, but I did end up with the rifle. It was very helpful killing crocs.
