I have the air sandals, and they have worked many times. However, I am trying to get through the new rocky path, which requires using the air sandals to jump to the new place on the world map. I did this the other day, then had to retrace my steps and go redo some things on the main map, so I know how it should happen. They are equipped on her, and she jumps all over, just not across that last abyss. What am I doing wrong?

The place you are trying to jump to leads to a secret room. It is one of the rooms you can't go to a second time. You need to go to the path that leads to the area instead of trying to jump.
